Background on my daily life: Given that I own my own advertising and design business every day is different. If I'm not meeting with clients, I'm designing on the computer or scrunched up in comfy chair somewhere brainstorming creative ideas for clients. I write, design, paint and illustrate (to a degree) and also create marketing plans for a variety of clients from the Girl Scouts of Arizona to Capitol Bancorp. I have an uncanny (or unsettling) knack -- depending on your perspective -- for putting together the oddest ideas and making it work. Guess that's why I do what I do. Two things are fairly consistent with my daily life -- one I'm almost always up early; and two, you can bet I'll be on my mountain or road bike at some point during the day.

Interesting stories about me: I am an only child and have been active almost all my life except for period of a few years where I was quite overweight. About 12 years ago I said enough was enough and over the course of a year lost about 80 pounds. After losing that weight, I started rock climbing, mountaineering and eventually mountain biking. I was 32 when I started mountain biking and took to it like a fish in water. I started racing in 2003 as a beginner, moved up to sport in 2004 and won the state title, and in 2005 moved up to expert and started racing the national circuit where I finished 4th in the nation in my age group. You could say that mountain biking is my sport. The adventure and intensity of racing in particular has kept me focused on staying fit.

Why I'm on Team Luna Chix: I want to be an inspiration to women so they can understand they have the ability to accomplish anything they set out to do. I'm living proof that you can sink to pretty low depths with your self-esteem and still come out on the other side feeling good about yourself and your life. Team Luna Chix is an amazing opportunity to impact women in a sport that holds a meaningful attraction for me.

What Luna means to me: Luna means being a healthy, active and strong woman -- a positive role model to encourage all women to get outside and play! It's not about being competitive, but rather about nurturing the best in everyone.

What the spirit of being a woman means to me: The spirit of being a woman is mysterious, compassionate and nurturing. It's fun to have so many different facets to our daily lives -- from fierce competitor in a mountain bike race to a beautiful, feminine woman all decked out for a night on the town. I'm constantly amazed by the shifts that give me who I am as a whole, complete woman.
