The Arizona mountain bike Team LUNA Chix group is made up of seven women from diverse backgrounds whose passion for cycling has brought us all together! Originally known as The Desert Wildflowers, we began in October '04 as a woman's group who wanted to give back to the community by introducing other women to the sport of mountain biking. Our monthly instructional rides began gaining momentum, so much so that we were invited to become part of the Team LUNA Chix organization in early May of 2005.
Our monthly rides have now expanded to include skills clinics and bike maintenance as well as just going out to ride and have fun.
This coming year, we look forward to helping raise awareness of the Breast Cancer Fund and to further promote the sport we love through fundraisers and local events. Our goals are to increase the number of women out on the trail, promote trail advocacy and introduce women to other women so they always have someone to ride with.
